Mediation Role of Perceived Organizational Support on Nurses’ Work Engagement and Leadership Styles

Background: Nurses’ work engagement is essential both for the quality of service provided and occupational health. However, there a lack adequate information about nurses’ in healthcare organizations that are affected by various factors context Health Psychology.Purpose: This study was aimed at investigating association between leadership styles supervisors engagement, elucidating role organizational support this relationship.Methods: A cross-sectional conducted on 85 nurses from health Catalonia, Spain, recruited via snowball procedure. Leadership Three Outcome Scales (TOS) were evaluated through Multifactorial Questionnaire (MLQ) as independent variables. POS an Organizational Support Test assessed mediating variable (POS), dependent Utrecht Job Involvement Scale (UWES).Results: The results displayed differences depending job positions. Besides, revealed positive TOS with other than laissez-faire. Additionally, illustrated (r=0.447, p<0.01). except laissez-faire positively affect POS; also, significantly predicted (β=0.581, t(78)=2.196, p<.05). Furthermore, confirmed mediates relationship (z=-3.490; z=3.117; z=3.521; z=3.791, p=0.000).Conclusion: Transformational transactional two main affecting their work, while decreases engagement; therefore, leaders should consider it. Consequently, high show superior levels work. research sheds new light psychology clinical area, particularly engagement.
